We will be having workshops, job shadow opportunities, and will be starting a student-run firm with hopes to get real-life experience publicizing other clubs and organizations on campus. We also will be forming committees to aid in fundraising and hope to allow members to form their own committees as they see fit. A main goal this year is to improve networking with alumni and professionals in the field in order to be more prepared for internships and graduation. Our email address is wsumurrowprssa@yahoo.com

Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society

PRSSA

Faculty Advisor | Mary Meares
mmmeares@wsu.edu

Lambda Pi Eta (LPE) is an honor society for students in Organizational Communication, Applied Intercultural Communication, and Communication Studies. LPH represents what Aristotle described in his book, Rhetoric, as the three ingredients of persuasion: Logos (Lambda) meaning logic, Pathos (Pi) relating to emotion, and Ethos (Eta) defined as character credibility and ethics. Nationally, it was founded in 1985 and became an affiliate of the National Communication Association (NCA) in 1988. The WSU Chapter was chartered in 2005. Lambda Pi Eta provides an opportunity for students to get to know other high achieving students and to explore career possibilities in the communication studies majors. Nonmembers and/or potential future members are welcome at LPE events. Members participate in service learning projects, School of Communication events (including helping with the Murrow Symposium), and other activities. To join LPE you must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for all courses taken, have a communication studies GPA of at least 3.25, and currently be enrolled as a student in good standing. Members who participate in LPE events can earn points towards an honor cord to be worn at graduation. For more information, including meeting times/location, please email mmmeares@wsu.edu.
