Internships

Online-only companies

These Internet-only companies have contacted us looking for student writers and/or videographers.

We want you to know about these opportunities, but we do not have the resources to investigate each company's legitimacy, so we suggest you ask enough questions and scrutinize their web sites to satisfy yourself that this is something you want to try.

You may want to ask the company whether you will be paid (many do not pay), how your writing will be used, how you will be credited as the author of the piece, etc., BEFORE you participate.

If you are interested in attempting to gain internship credit for these, please obtain details on how many hours per week you will be working and the name and job duties of the person who will be supervising you. Then discuss this with the internship coordinator or the faculty supervisor of the internships in your field.

SPIN.com
SPIN Magazine is looking for fun, young correspondents for a new global program we're developing. Correspondents will be asked to regularly submit stories, photos and videos about their local music scenes to regionally-based web sites. The submitted material will be moderated by regional editors, who will provide feedback and advice to the young reporters.
Although we won't have the infrastructure prepared for submissions until the end of the year, we'd like to have an idea of who's willing to contribute. Please ask any interested students to send me a photo of themselves, a short bio (a couple paragraphs including age and how long you've lived in the area) and a little about the  area's music scene as soon as possible. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions. Thank you!
