Graduation Requirements


 

Completion of the general education requirements (GER's) for the College of Liberal Arts.


* 6 credits World Civilization

* 6 credits Communication Proficiency, 3 credits of written communication proficiency are required; Communication Studies 102 counts for the other 3 credits of this requirement

* 18 credits of Humanities/Social Sciences/Intercultural

* 12 credits of Sciences, 3 credits in the Biological Sciences and 3 credits in the Physical Sciences, with 2 labs

* 3 credits of Mathematics Proficiency

* 2 years of one language in high school, or 3 quarters at a community college or 2 semesters at WSU.

Each student will complete the requirements of one of the following sequences and accumulate an emphasis/minor of 18 credits (9 300-400-level credits) in a second department.

At least 75 of the 120 credits required for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication must be taken in other departments. Transfer students, in meeting the requirements of their chosen sequence, must take a minimum of 15 credit hours in the school. Of your 120 credits needed to graduate, 40 credits must be at the 300-400 level. Courses at the 300-400 level in your major will count as part of the 40 credits.
