How to Certify
Applications are due April 25th, the Friday of finals week.
To be eligible to apply for certification, you must be currently completing all of the following: Com 101, ComSt 102, Com 245, Com 260, and Com 295 (with a C or higher). We average your Com GPA and cumulative gpa. This generates what we call the ranking gpa. Entrance to Spring 2008 ranking gpa cutoff was a 2.7.
Neal Robison/Cable 8 Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a Cable 8 student who has worked as a Board Member or Executive Board Member. The student must be certified in the School of Communication and worked for Cable 8 for at least one year and is in junior standing. The Neal Robison/Cable 8 Scholarship is worth $1,000.00.

All students must apply for Communication 295 Media Writing. Entrance to Communication 295 is based on cumulative GPA, for transfer students it is based on your transfer GPA. The course should be taken your second semester sophomore year or first semester junior year to graduate in four years. Applications are available outside of the Main Office in October for the Spring semester, and in March for the Summer and Fall semesters. A student should have at least 40 credits before applying. Upon completion of Communication 295 a student must apply for certification.
